She has a little over 9 years experience as a marriage and family therapist and an individual counselor. She retired form the Arkansas Department of Human Services and returned to Graduate School at the John Brown University counseling program, She has worked extensively with children and families through the local community mental health agency. She has experience working with divorce issues, infidelity, stepfamilies, childhood traumas, behavioral disorders of children, sexual abuse, personality disorders, anxiety, depression and many other issues.
Trained from a Systemic perspective, Mrs. Davis looks beyond the current issues with children to see the bigger family issues. She uses Cognitive-Behavioral and Solution Focused techniques when dealing with individual issues. Her therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. She integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, she provides guidance and support as each individual and family builds on their strengths.
Mrs. Davis has received Advanced Training in Emotion Focused Therapy for couples. She chose this type of couple therapy because it has the best long term outcomes based on reserach. She is also trained in EMDR which is proven to help with past traumas.
